One More Congress MLA in Puthussery Joins BJP: Govt Loses Simple Majority

Puthussery:: One more Congress MLA in Puthussery tenders resignation. The latest to quit is Kamaraj Nagar MLA, V. Raman Kumar, marking loss of simply majority for Congress’s Narayanswami govt.

The 33-member House requires backing of 17 MLAs to remain in power. A total of four MLAs including Health Minister Mallavi Krishna Rao have resigned so far leaving the incumbent Narayanswami govt with just 10 Congress MLAs and 3 from DMK and one independent - three short of the majority mark.
