Police Raid Official Residence Of Sitaram Yechury in Delhi

New Delhi : The Special Cell team of Delhi Police carried out raid on the official residence of CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury Monday morning. The house is located at Canning Road and one that’s sanctioned by the Centre.

The raid is said to part of inspections relating to news portal, the NewsClick, whose editor Sumeet lives in a house behind Yechury’s residence. Police claim they came in looking for Sumeet. 30 locations were raided in connection with NewsClick and comprised houses of journalists whose phones, laptops and other accessories were taken away by the cops.

A case under UAPA has been registered against , NewsClick.
