Polling Begins In Delhi

NEW DELHI :  Polling in 70 constituencies of Delhi is underway, with a total of 672 candidates in the fray.  Incumbent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, will contest at Delhi constituency where highest number of candidates are testing running for polls.

Government has declared Saturday a public holiday. To facilitate ease, the anti-CAA protests in front of Gate No. of Jamia Islamia University has been shifted to outside the Gate No. 4.

Poll results will be declared on 11th.  Exit poll results will be out this evening.

Meanwhile, the Coordination Committee at Jamia Millia informed that, the protest will shift back to its original venue at Gate No. 7, once polling gets over. AAP sold development and its people-centered policies as poll plank. Security was tightened around Jamia Milia and Shaheen Baug.

Most opinion polls up to now suggest AAP coming back with a robust majority. Surveys conducted by India Today, NDTV, Times Now and NBD forecast 60 % seats going the AAP way.


In 2015. AAP came to power with  a brutal majority winning 67 of the 70 seats. BJP bagged the remaining three as Congress was pushed to a zero.
