Kannur : The National Investigation Agency(NIA) arrested two women in Kannur for propagating pro-Islamic State(IS)  messages over social media. The duo, Shifo Hariss and Mizha Sidhique, are suspected to have  links to the terror organization.

NIA had put the women under surveillance over months now and a youth associated with them had been nabbed from Mangalapuram early this month.  Incriminating testimonies from him prompted arrests of the two women, said sources close to the probe circle.

According to NIA, the culprits created a closed group on social network and promoted IS ideology via the forum.
