New Delhi : Following startling revelations on deaths of 49 CRPF jawans in terror attack of 2019 in Pulwama, the CBI ;is out to get former Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik. The former Governor had recently revealed that lapse on part of Union Ministry had a role for the deaths that happened.
The CBI notice however rakes up an old incident. In his interview with The Wire, Mallik spoke about RSS - BJP leader Ram Madhu who compelled him to pass a Bill for Reliance Insurance while he was in office as Jammu Kashmir Governor.
The Wire reports that Malik would be quizzed on the Bill issue and has been sked to appear at the CBI office in New Delhi on 28 April.
There were shocking revelations made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the interview conducted by prominent mediaman Karan Thapar for The Wire. During the course of the interview, Malik said that the Union Home ministry committed serious lapse with regard to the deadly Pulwama attack. Malik alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the National Security Advsor Ajit Doval had asked him to stay silent on incident. Satua Pal Malik at that time was, the Governor of Jammu Kashmir.
Malik, who was the first politician to become Kashmir Governor since 1976, was a staunch loyalist of Modi and the BJP leadership. When Modi came to power in 2014, Malik continued as BJP’s national Vice President. He was transferred from Kashmir to Goa in Nov of 2019 and then to Meghalaya in August 2020.
