NEW DELHI : In an embarrassing setback to authorities at the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU), the Delhi High Court on Friday, asked the administration to base all its registrations on the old fee-structure.
To the students holding prolonged protests on the issue, it is a victory of sorts, given that the ruling is interim and the authorities have been allotted a two-week timeline for its response. The Student’s Union in a general body meeting represented by various departments and centres, had decided to approach the High Court against implementing the proposed fee-hike.
The students had urged the court for cancellation of revised Hostel Manual that stated fee revision.
