Thrissur : The Red Flag will hoist today in the historical land of bloodshed battles. The Deepashika(torch) will be kindled this evening in Thekkinad – the land resounding freedom struggles – at the public meeting venue of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Nagar, marking the start of the 35th national conference of All India Kissan Sabha. The victory of 380-day-long Maha karshak agitation and memories of over 700 martyrs who laid their lives in the battle, will invigorate the conference.
The torch relay led by Dr, Viju Krishnan, M Prakashan and SK Preeja from Telangana and Keezhvenmani, will be accorded elaborate reception at the district borker of Vaniyampara on Monday 9 am.
In Valaar Punapra the rally led by state president M Vijay, and Kumar, captain and Joint secretary George Mathew will be accorded reception at Pongam in the border region of Koratti. The Kodimara Jatha(flag march) from Kayiryur led by Karshaka Sangam state secretary Vatsan Panoli, captain, joint secretary and manager PA Shaukath will be received at Kadavallur, at the district border at 9 am morning.
Each of the three processions moves accompanied by athletes and two-wheeler convoys and will continue their journey, pausing at reception points along way before congregating at the culmination venue in Thrissur’s Shaktan Nagar at 4 pm.
On arrival, the Organising Committee Chairman and Minister K Radhakrishnan, will unfurl the flag. The lamp lighting ceremony shall be done by by All India joint Secretary of Kissan Sabha, EP Jayarajan.
The four-day conference will by inaugurated on Tuesday by Kissan Sabha All India General Secretary Hannanmolla at K Vardharajan nagar, Lulu Convention Centre in Puzhaikal.
803 delegates including goodwill representatives from abroad will participate in the conference. Chief Minsiter Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the public meeting on 16th evening. Leaders at the conference would include Kissan Sabha All India President Ashok Dhawle, S Ramachandran Pillai and others.
