NEW DELHI : Revenge is not justice, said Chief Justice of India SA Bobde on Saturday referring to the state-police killing four accused in the Telangana gangrape/murder case.
To deliver justice, there are processes to be completed said Justice Bobde, adding that, cutting across the system to deal with it squarely, is not acceptable.
The national Human Rights Commission meanwhile will reach Telangana to take evidence of the killings. The team will inspect the spot beside NH 44m the Mehbooba Nagar District Hospital and will also take testimonies from the cops.
Further, the Telangana High Court had instructed state DGP to preserve the bodies till 8 9m Monday. It also admitted pleas from two petitioners seeking videoed postmortem procedure.
On 29 Nov, on pretext of fixing up the scooter’s punctured wheel, four men in Hyderabad dragged the 26-year-old veterinary doctor Disha to a secluded place and raped her in turns. They then killed her and burnt the body.
The police arrested the suspects next day and in wee hours of 6 December, led them to the crime scene to gather evidence. , All four were shot to death there, in what police described to be “encounter’ when the suspects allegedly snatched a cop’s gun, got violent and attempted to flee.
