NEW DELHI : WhatsApp messages, now out in the open, indicate that ,Sunday evening attack at JNU, was plotted by Sangh Parivar. The attacks were preceded by sequence of messages over several hours, asking the Pro-RSS workers to unite against Left forces in the campus.
The high voltage messages were circulated mainly via two groups namely “Friends of RSS” and “Unity Against Left”. One inflammatory text read “ Enemies of the country at JNU should be destroyed”.
Several phone numbers pertaining to such inflammatory texts were traced to to ABVP workers, said news reports. The route to JNU and aisles inside the campus, were also shared by these groups.
Police-backed ABVP and RSS men, thrashed students including Union President Aishe Ghosh brutally, in an attempt aimed to kill her. They dealt near-fatal head blows to SFI worker Suri.
Several students with serious wounds have been hospitalised at AIIMS. Suri was admitted it the trauma unit of the hospital. Over 70 men participated in the Sunday attack, arriving at JNU with cricket stumps, sword and rods. Both, women’s and mixed hostels were targeted in the violence.
The assailants were forced to leave, after students braced up in greater numbers.
