New Delhi : Amid tensed tussle over Chief Minister's post in Karnataka, the PCC president DK Shivakumar also heads to Delhi, after initially staying behind on health grounds. Days after Congress’s thumping election victory, internal dispute over CM post worsened each day.
Earlier Siddaramaiah, the fron-rounner, reached Delhi on call, however Shivakumar cited illness for excusing himself out. However according to latest development, Shivakumar will reach Delhi today and meet with Rahul Gandhi and Party leader Malikarjun Kharga. Suddaramaiah is backed by majority MLAs for the party post while Shivakumar argues he salvaged the Party after Kumaraswamy coalition collapsed. Incidentally, Shivakumar enjoys wide support from supporters and had openly expressed his displeasure over the ongoing split on who the CM should be.
“A single man with courage makes majority and I have proved it. I do not wish to disclose all that happened in past five years. Several MLAs dropped out of the Party. I did not lose hear and took responsibility and held the Party strong. Mallikarjun Kharge is senior leader and, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi has confidence in us. We leave the matter to them,” Shivakumar had told media before leaving for Delhi.
