Chandigarh : Four soldiers were killed after unknown number of shooters opened fire at Bhatinda military base in Indian border state of Punjab. The firing took place at 4.35 am Wednesday morning.
According to military sources, the incident was “not a terror attack” and took place in a canteen.
Security around base has been beefed up and rapid response teams activated, following the shooting. Search operations are underway, said a senior military official.
The military station is located six hours north of New Delhi and is largely a residential base housing families of soldiers.
