Supreme Court Bans Two-finger Examination of Rape Victims; Warns Stringent Punishment

New Delhi : In a landmark judgment, the Supreme Court warned strict punishment  against  two-finger examination of rape victims.  This kind of procedure has no scientific basis and subjects the victim to additional assault, the Bench observed.

It is sad that such unscientific procedure is still in vogue, said Justices DY Chachdrachud and Hima Kohli, adding that those found doing this will be charged as offenders.
