NEW DELHI: In West Bengal to push back BJP it is imminent that TMC be defeated, said CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury. Strong discontentment against TMC governance is rife across the state – a factor BJP had levered on in order to make gains in the parliamentary elections last time. TMC served to be the pathway to BJP.
CPI(M) agreed to tie-ups with secular parties including Congress in the state, so the votes against TMC and BJP can be pooled effectively. It is imminent that BJP, bent on subverting the constitution, should be toppled. In the course of his address, Yechury reminded that Mamta Banerjee was at one time a BJP minister.
