Udhayanidhi Stalin Takes Oath As Minister

Chennai: Actor and son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Udhayanidhi Stalin has sworn in as cabinet minister in Tamil Nadu DMK government. The Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi administered the oath at Raj Bhavan. His portfolio includes departments of youth welfare and sports.

Udhayandhi expressed thanks to the Chief Minister after the oath-taking ceremony. The 45-year-old held office as secretary of the party’s Youth Wing since 2019 - a post his father assumed for nearly three decades.

Udhayanidhi has played lead roles in several Tamil movies. He was star campaigner in the elections held last year and grabbed national headlines for his scathing criticism of PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister during the campaign.

MK Stalin became DMK President in 2018 after the demise of is father M Karunanidhi. He became chief minister after the DMK-led coalition won elections of 2021.
