Shimla : With barely days left for Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh, BJP has come out with a heavily-communal manifesto. At a rally in Shimla, the party president JP Naddha released the poll manifesto promising to implement Uniform Civil Code – a highly contentious issue among Muslims for it would meaning doing away of religious laws. The new manifesto labeled “Sankalp Pathr” speaks of carrying out search and surveys of Waqf properties and followup action in case of assets that may be found disproportionate.
And, thoufh responsible for r plunging the nation into mass unemployment, BJP promises 8 lakh jobs in Himachal if voted back to power. Also promised in the campaign is “Sakhti” project for development of basic amenities and transport facilities at religiously important places and temples. A sum of Rs 12,000 crores shall be spent for this over next ten years, says the manifesto, at heart of which lies religious tourism.
Naddha also unveiled separate manifesto to rope in women voters. The government will reserve 33 jobs for women, he said.
