U.P/ NEW DELHI : The 23-year-old rape victim, who was burnt alive on Thursday in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao, has succumbed to her wounds. The end from cardiac arrest came around 11.40 pm Friday night at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital after battling for life with 90& burns.
The woman was on her way to the court to offer her testimony, when four accused in the case waylaid her, abducted and stabbed her after which they doused her with kerosene and set her ablaze in broad daylight.
She was brought to Lucknow’s Civil Hospital around 10.30 am and was airlifted to Delhi later for better treatment.
Following the incident, the UP police nabbed the prime accused Shivam, who was released on bail last week, and two others involved in the attack. Also the case has been shifted to Fast Track Court.
In her dying testimony the woman reportedly told the police, that she wanted to stay alive and see all her culprits go to death.
