NEW DELHI : As various party legislators and independents in Maharashtra remain holed up in resorts booked by Congress, NCP or Shiv Sena, CPI(M) MLA Vinod Nikole, a cut above the rest, is out in the open addressing needs of his people as usual.
A ongoing protest led by Vinod, sought compensation for losses suffered by the farmers, after unseasonal rains destroyed most of their crops.
The rally under the aegis of CPI(M)’s All-India Kisan Sabha, spans seven thehsils in Thane-Palghar region.
Vinod in his address, also exposed BJP for their blatant coup overthrowing democracy, to grab power in the state.
In the constituency reserved for scheduled tribe, Vinod unseated incumbent BJP MLA Pascal Dharnai with a majority of 4742 votes, in the Assembly elections.
Various parties had approached him asking to be put up in the resorts, as part of stacking legislatures for the unavoidable floor test, that will determine the political fate of the state.
Born to a poor family, Vinod has been a long-time state-level DYFI member. His fulltime social service in the constitution crosses 15 years now. Vinod was on the forefront of Kissan Long March that rallied to Mumbai last year.
Vinod has captured media spotlight now, as the lone MLA, who remains unapproachable by BJP for its horse trading strategy, in the state caught up in political crisis for a month now.
