Upcoming Lok Sabha Election : 8 More Parties To Join Broader Alliance

New Delhi  More parties come forward to defend against BJP’s communal polarisation to win Lok Sabha elections and plunge the country into jeopardy. The second meeting of the broader Opposition meeting  is scheduled on  the 17th and 18th in Bengaluru and  will be attended by 24 Parties. The first meeting was held in Patna, Bihar last month.

Forging ties freshly into the alliance are : MDMK, KDMK, VCK, RSP,  Forward Block, Muslim League, Kerala Congress(Joseph) and Kerala Congress(Mani). MDMK amd KDMK were BJP allies in the Lok Sabha elections of 2014.  

Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi will attend the Bengaluru meeting. The meeting will take stock of Sangh Parivar and BJP strategies that intensify polarisation including the uniform civil code. The Opposition parties will be treated to a dinner before the meeting, hosted by Sonia Gandhi.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote to Opposition Party leaders welcoming them to the meeting and dinner, underscoring that after the first successful meet in Patna the congregation this time will have more issues on the table.

Ailing RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav confirmed he would attend the meeting. 16 Parties took part in the first meeting of the broader alliance held in Patna on 23 June at the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s residence. The Opposition group will also discuss the unexpected split in NCP in Maharashtra that came after the first meeting.
