New Delhi : With governance a total collapse, violence in Manipur continues unabated.  There is exchange of fire between communities along Meitei - Kuki village boundaries. Following accusations of Army men’s indecent behaviour toward local women, clashes broke out in More Bazar close to Myanmar border. Later rioters set fire to several vacant houses that the Army had converted to their make-shift accommodation.

Hours before violence in More Bazar, two trucks  with security forces were torched in Kangapokpi. The trucks  were headed  from Dimapur in Nagaland. When it reached Kangpokpi, a crowd inclduing women, blocked the vehicles asking to check if there were members of the rival group inside. The Army refused and the group  set the trucks on fire. The soldiers were unhurt.

Several families have fled  for relative safety to Morai, where the two warring communities live blended. Earlier on 3rd of May, Morai too witnessed clashes when  the two communities turned on one another with fighting and arson.
