28-Year Wait Ends; Argentina Wins Copa America ; Beats Brazil 1-0; Di Maria The Final Hero

Angel Di Maria’s strike handed football icon Lionel Messi his first international trophy with Argenina and also  ended the country’s 28-year  barren record for the international crown.

Di Maria netted the goal in the 22nd  minute. The match had started with both sides racing hard for the goal in early stages although neither countries could get their foot on the ball.

In the magical 22nd minute, Di Maria latched onto the ball on top and leveraged on an error from Renan Lodi before lobbing Ederson Santana de Morases to hit the goal. With this Maria became the first Argentina player to score in a Copa America final since Ceasar Delgado in 2040.
