Brazil Wins; Neymar Hat-trick Breaks Ronaldo’s Goal Record: Moves Into 2nd Place Behind Pele

Neymar surpassed Ronaldo and moved into second place behind Pele on Brazil’s all-time goalscoring list after notching a hat-trick in a 4-2 win over Peru on Tuesday in a World Cup qualifier.

The former Barcelona superstar now has 64 goals, two more than Ronalda and 13 behind Pele, who tops the chart with 77.

In the match, Andre Carrillo initially fired Peru into a six-minute lead but the scores leveled at half-time when Neymar passed a pentalty into the bottom corner. Nevertheless, Peru inched ahead again with Renato Tapia taking lead but drew level again in the 59 minute. From then, after yet another penalty score, Neymar played out his hat-trick clinching Brazil’s win over Peru.
