India transformed its two-goal deficit into a two-goal lead at the end of the third quarter, reduced later by Germany by a goal from the penalty corner. At half time, Team India was at 1-3 but advanced to 3-3 by break time.

Simranjeeth Singh(17th, 34th minutes) scored a brace. Other baggers were Hardik Singh (27th), Harmanpreet Singh(29th) and Rupinder Pal Singh(31st).
This is India’s third hockey bronze medial in the history of Olympics.
