Football great Pele has been re-admitted to Intensive Care Unit while recovering from a surgery to remove a tumour from his right colon.
Shortly after the surgery, Pele had tweeted from the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo saying “Luckily, I am used to celebrating big victories with you. I am fcing up to this match with a smile on my face, a lot of optimism and happiness for being surrounded by the love of my family and friends.”.
The 80-year-old legend had spent six days in the hospital for the surgery necessitated after going for his annual medical check up.
Pele was famous as a player for rarely getting injured but suffered from hip problems for years and cannot walk unaided. He had cut public appearances owing to Covid-19 pandemic.
