NEW DELHI : The International Tennis Federation (ITF) turned down Pakistan’s demand to hold India Versus India Group 1 Davi Cup in Islamabad.
The world body announced on Tuesday that, the India Pak tie would be shifted to Nur Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, a place the federation described as ‘a neutral venue’..
India’s star players had previously informed that they would not participate if the tie was to be held in Pakistan.
Spearheading the Indian team will be the country’s second highest ranked singles player Sumit Nagal)131), along with RAmkumar Ramanathan)175), Sasikumar Mukund (261), Skeht Myneni (390) and first-time call-up Sidhart Rawat(500).
Pakistan said it will appeal against the decision.
