Javelin Gold : Neeraj Chopra Creates History, Ends India’s 100-year Wait For Athletic Olympic Medal

Tokyo Olympics: Neeraj Chopra created history winning India its first athletic Olympic  medal, a Gold in Javelin throw  in  Tokyo Games. .  

With this, Neeraj become the only second Indian to win an individual gold in Olympics spanning a throw length that immortalizes himself as the first track-and-field Games medal winner for the country.

The 23-year old is son of a farmer from Khandra village near Panipat in Haryana and recorded 87.58 in the second round throw at finals - a feat that stunned the world athletes and end India’s 100-year wait for a track-and-field medal in Olympics.
