Liverpool host Spurs

The white shirts would have to bring their best game if they hope to upset League toppers Liverpool

Anfield: Premier League toppers Liverpool are all set to play Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 10.00 p.m. IST. The Champions League Winners made a headstart this season winning match after match only to drop points to Manchester United in their last fixture. Tottenham however are having a shaky journey so far - winning, losing and drawing equal number of games so far- and the are looking to put it all behind them with a big win against giants Liverpool.

Tottenham are most likely to go all in when they attack - leaving the last four or three dispersed and prone to dashing second strikers and wingers; an aspect that has cost them many a point. However that high-risk-play might just be what they throw against the Red Army which seems to slay any who cross its way. Liverpool on the otherhand have to be weary of conceding early; one goal down and the players may go into a downward spiral. Maintaining morale is taxing when you're at the top and playing a match which you come in expecting a steamroll win. However should the Spurs attack fail, the Liverpool onslaught that would ensue is almost sure to land the ball in the net.

Tottenham hope to grab three points but would gladly settle for a single one while their host team will settle for nothing short of defeating the away club. However niether of the two would be handed over to them lightly; every single point would have to be earned.

Liverpool seem to have it all; the best attackers and the best defenders - boasting two of the three joint top scorers of the league, Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah, as well as the world's best defender Virgil van Dijk. Not only have the Reds netted and downed all who they have faced this season (save for United), they have also conceded the least (7 goals). The visitors field formidable attackers too: the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot winner Harry Kane as well as Son who is in form and probably their best player at the moment. The two of them combining with Alli and Sissoko are capable of producing moments of team brriliancies and match turners... something liverpool have to anticipate and try to negate.

The probable lineups for the teams are as follows:

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Sepp, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Mane

Tottenham: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Rose; Sissoko, Winks; Alli, Son; Kane
