Lionel Messi broke down bidding farewell to his boyhood team FC Barcelona, confirming he was talking with French club Paris St. Germain(PSG).
Barcelona had announced last week that it could no longer afford the icon after a glittering stint spanning two decades.
Meanwhile a French newspaper L’Equipe reported on Sunday that Messi will travel on Sunday or Monday to Paris and undergo a medical before finalising a deal with its Qatar Sports Investment-owned club.
While Messi has not confirmed his joining PSG, he said he wishes to stay on ground as long as possible, adding that he still wishes to win another Champions league trophy.
“As long as I go on being competitive and as long as my body responds(I’ll carry on playing), he said at the conference.
