Sanjay Seth Calls For Affordable Housing For Rural Athletes

New Delhi: A separate scheme should be implemented to provide housing to sportspersons, escpecially for those from rural areas, said Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth in Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

To drive home the point, Seth laid out accommodation difficulties faced by rural athletes who shift to cities to undergo training. Speaking at Zero Hour, Seth suggested scheme akin to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for the purpose.

The suggestion comes amid countrywide expectations for brilliant performance at Olympics 2024 set to commence tomorrow 26 July.
