Doha : Germany has been eliminated from the FIFA World Cup for second time in a row making its 4-2 win over Costa Rica irrelevant. Similarly Spain’s gains against Concacaf on Thursday fell to pieces after it lost to Japan in parallel game.
Germany, prior to 2018, had never failed to reach at least the final eight of a World Cup. And like in 2018, it has made an early exit at the world’s biggest stage.
Nation League campaign had forecast all was not well for Germany. Germany lost to Hungary and then ceded a 2-0 leaded to England. The last nail came with a 1-0 draw against Oman.
