Corona Fears : Kuwait Announces Public Holiday Up To 29 March; All Flights Suspended

KUWAIT : Authorities in Kuwait announced a public holiday in the country from 12 – 29 March as global outbreak of coronavirus continues to explode. Operations at all airports have been suspended until further notice, the govt said.

The authorities have also ordered shutdown of all schools, restaurants, cinema houses and hotels. People have been advised to refrain from hosting gatherings including marriage functions. The decision for the near lockdown situation , came up at ministerial meeting held Wednesday.

Countrywide, there continues to be new cases reported each passing hour, prompting authorities for the drastic measures.
