Covid-19: Kuwait and Qatar records new fatalities

 Manama: Kuwait recorded its sixth death from novel coronavirus and 93 new infection cases, on Saturday. The total number of infections in the country rose to 1,751.

A Bangladeshi expat was the latest victim of the virus.

Of the latest cases, 64 were Indians, taking the number of infected Indians in the country to 988.

One more people died of Covid-19 in Qatar on Saturday, bringing the death toll to eight. The 59-year-old man suffered a heart attack that led to his death.

The country confirmed 345 new cases, pushing the infected tally to 5,008, of which 4,490 are active cases under treatment, according to state run Qatar News Agency (QNA).

Oman confirmed 111 new coronavirus cases, including 78 foreigners, taking the country's total infections to 1,180 and six deaths.

The number of Indians diagnosed with coronavirus in Bahrain rose to 260.

On Saturday, Bahrain confirmed 23 new cases. A total of 741 people recoveries reported so far, leaving behind the active cases as 1,019

The country has been extended the coronavirus testing to labour camps and populated residential areas.

A total of five Indians, including two Keralites, have died in Saudi Arabia due to coronavirus infection as of April 17, Riyadh Indian Embassy sources said. Three people have died in the last two days, they were identified as Suleiman Syed Junaid, from Pune, Badre Alam, from UP and Azmatullah Khan from Telangana.

 

Shabnaz, a native of Kannur Panoor, and Safwan from Chemmad, Malappuram were died earlier.
