Doctor In China Who Treated Coronavirus Patients Dies ; Death Toll Clims To 41

BEIJING : A 62-year-old doctor in Wuhan, the epicenter of coronavirus outbreak, died from the virus . The official Media in China said  Dr Liabg Wudong was at the frontline of the coronavirus outbreak in the city.

With this, the death toll from corona infection climbs to 41.

Wuhan is a city in Hubei province, from where the deadly outbreak first began. 658 patients remain affected by the virus in hospitals there, of whom 57 are critically ill.

To contain the epidemic, authorities in China have locked down several cities including Wuhan. 29 provinces across China have reported the virus.

The govt has put restrictions on travel and public celebrations. Lunar New Year, an important date in Chinese calendar saw no festivities in the country on Friday.

Several Indians including 20 students from Kerala remain stranded following travel ban.  The Indian Embassy is in active talks with Chinese authorities to resolve the situation.
