President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russia’s military to put its deterrent forces, which include nuclear weapons, on “special alert.”
Putin issued the directive to escalate after, what he described at a high-level Moscow meeting was provocation and “aggressive statements” by NATO nations. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said should America deploy nuclear weapons in Holland of Lithuania, his country will become forced to use its nuclear arsenals.
Following Russia’s nuclear warning, Belarus held peace talks with Moscow. As war enters its fourth day, there is heavy fighting in Ukraine’s second largest city of Kharkiv. The ports in southern region of Ukraine have fallen completely into Russian control.
