islamabad : Islamabad : A gang of insurgents in Pak’s Baluchistan shot dead former chief justice of High Court. The deadly ambush occurred when the judge, Muhammad Nor Meskanzai, stepped ouside the mosque to return home after offiering prayers in his native Kharan district.
An outlawed insurgent group, the Baloch Liberation Army, claimed responsibility for the slaying.
The judge retired in early this May this year as Chief Justice of Pakistan’s Consitutional Islamic Court or popularly known as Federal Shariat Court, which is separate from the civil courts and examines whether national laws comply with tenets of Islamic law.
