Tel Aviv : Hamas militants launched massive rocket attack across Israel following which Tel Aviv declared ‘state of war’ in the country. Over 5000 rockets raced across the sky toward Israel early morning followed by loud sirens down below, on what was otherwise a festive holiday today. The early morning barrage lasted more than 30 minutes with four reported killed so far and scores injured.
Israel defense forces alleged there was massive infiltration by Hamas militants who they consider terrorist. Paragliders were used in the attack and footage showed people passing in cars being shot at.
“The Israel Defense Forces declares a state of readiness for war. There has been widespread rocket fire into Israeli territory from Gaza, and terrorists have infiltrated Israeli territory through various entry points," the military said.
Responding to the surprise aerial and ground attack, the Israel Defence Forces(IDF) said “Hamas terrorist organisation will pay a heavy price”.
