Dubai : Police in Dubai concluded death of prominent Keralite businessman, Joy Arakkal, last week as case of suicide. Joy killed himself jumping from the 14th floor of a building, said Dubai Police Station Director Brigadier Abdullah Khadeem Bin Suttar. There is no conspiracy involved in the death, he added.
Joy was found dead on 22nd of March. Relatives were initially told that he died from a heart attack. Joy was managing director of Dubai headquartered Innova group of companies which majorly operated in the oil refinery sector. According to Dubai police, Joy faced financial crisis that possibly drove him to the extreme step. His body will be flown back home in a specially chartered ambulance,
The funeral is scheduled to be held in Joy’s hometown of Mananthavady in Wayanad where he built a 45,000 sq ft mansion last year - one of the biggest houses constructed in Kerala.
Joy has received several awards including a lifetime achievement award from Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during the minister’s visit to Dubai.
