No Respite : China’s Death Toll From Coronavirus Rises To 80

BEIJING : The number of dead from Coronavirus in China climbed to at least 80, even as fresh cases continue to emerge. Of them, 76 deaths occurred in Wuhan alone, the province from where the deadly viral attacks first erupted.

As infection continues to spread at quick pace, authorities in China have stepped up travel restrictions around Wuhan. 12 cities in the country are now under lockdown. The tally of those infected with the disease climbed to 2,700, of whom 300 are reported  to be critically ill.

The Indian government on Saturday, issued a travel advisory to citizens saying all travels to China should be avoided, unless absolute ely necessary. The Centre is also trying to bring back its citizens stranded in Wuhan and other parts of the China.

 

US, France and Russia too are engaged in retrieving their citizens. Meanwhile, marathon efforts are being made to hit upon a preventive to the fast-spreading virus, authorities in China said.

The Standing Committee of Communist Party of China’s Politburo on Saturday, decided to institute a special committee to find medical solution to prevent and control the epidemic. At their meeting, the party also decided to dispatch more medics team to Hubei, the town where maximum deaths have occurred.
