At least 90,000 healthcare providers around the world are infected with Covid-19, claimed the International Council of Nurses(ICN) on Wednesday, a figure that could well be half of the real tally, claim other reports.
260 nurses have lost their lives so far, a statement from ICN read. The council urged authorities around the world to keep more accurate records to help gauge and prevent the virus from spreading among both staff and patients.
There is huge outcry over shortage of safety equipments at several hard-hit facilities around the globe, including in U. S. At some places, nurses are reportedly fashioning their own gear from pillow covers and thrash bags.
While the pandemic appears to be stabilizing – a sign taken as the beginning of decline, Russian President Vladimir Putin said his country will not rush to lift the curbs warning that, the haste could undo all preventive measures taken so far.
