London : Countries around the world seal borders fearing outbreak of the new Covid-19 Omicron variant.
Israel has banned entry for foreigners from around 50 African countries. It also ordered the controversial phone monitoring for contact tracing purposes of persons infected with Omicron even as there is growing protest over privacy infringement involved in that surveillance.
Masks back in Britain
With Britain detecting the variant inside, the government has reinstated mandatory mask and testing, it eased earlier. Also in place is a ban for citizens flying in from 10 African countries.
America, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Iran, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zelant, Saudi Arabia Oman, Kuwait, Indonesia, and Maldives also declared ban on nationals from various African countries. The countries have also announced quarantine for their own citizens returning from Africa.
