Manama: UAE residents and tourists travelling to Dubai will have to undergo a pre-travel PCR test to rule out coronavirus starting Sunday.
The test must have been taken within 72 hours of travel - down from the earlier 96.
This will be applicable regardless of the destination that the passengers are coming from, Dubai media office said on Wednesday.
Passengers from some countries may be required to undergo a second test on arrival in Dubai, it added.
UAE citizen are exempted from pre-flight PCR test irrespective of the country they are coming from, they just need to do a PCR test at the airport, the statement added.
The new safety rules come into effect from Sunday, January 31.
