The anguish over death of 22-year-old at hands of religious police in Iran remains unquelled. Protesters in Tehran lit up fireworks celebrating defeat of their national team in FIFA World Cup on Tuesday. Earlier, the Iran team had refuse to sing national anthem at their turn in the World Cup 2022.
22-year-old Kurdish Mahsa Amiri died on September 16, three days into her arrest for not wearing hijab. According to eyewitnesses Mahsa was beaten while inside the police van that took her on the day. Her sudden death in custody was official put as ‘cardiac arrest’ although she was a healthy young woman with absolutely no medical conditions, according to her family.
