U. S, media quoted American officials saying that  Russia has asked China for military assistance for its war in Ukraine.  Close on heels of media claim, the U.S. National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, endorsed the news.

Russia held direct talks with China. If China responds to the asking it will face dire consequences, said  Sullivan. On the other hand, China rejected the reports and its Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijjan said “The top priority now is that all parties should exercise restraint to descalate and cool down the situation instead of fueling the tensions.” He described the reports on military assistance as “disinformation” and “malicious”.

Russia  also denied the reports, insisting Russia has all the resources it needs. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said “Russia has the independent capacity to continue the operation. As we said, it’s going according to plan and will be completed in full.”
