Manama : Saudi Arabia has started to ease Covid-19 restrictions on entertainment and reopened cinemas, gyms, and sports centers on Sunday.
However, the suspension on events and parties, including weddings, corporate meetings, and events in banquet halls, independent wedding halls and hotels, will continue until further notice.
Social events will continue to be restricted with caps of 20 people. Attendees will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
Authorities will increase inspection campaigns to ensure compliance to restrictions, official news agency SPA reported, citing a ministry of Interior sources. Violators would be fined.
The restrictions on cinemas and indoor entertainment centers, independent indoor games' venues, restaurants and shopping centers, gyms and sports centers, and dine-in at restaurants and cafes came into effect on February 3.
