Nairobi : Kenyan police have arrested a suspected serial killer who is believed to have murdered and mutilated 42 women since 2022, one of the victims being his own wife. The man was identified as Collins Jumaisi Khalusha aged 33 and was taken into custody while he was watching the Euro final.
The first of nine dismembered bodies recovered so far, was on Friday at a quarry in the capital, Nairobi. All victims were between ages of 18 and 30 and killed much the same way.
Collins confessed to killings 42 women. Police conducted a search of his house where they found items like mobiles, credit card etc belonging to victims. Collins said he lured each of the women to where he wanted them to be and carried out the murder. Police also recovered a machete from his house, which is suspected to have been used to dismember the bodies. They also found crime accessories like rubber gloves, sellotape, nylon sacks etc.
The families that reported their loved ones missing are in a state of shock and face the daunting task of trying to identify if the remains found in the quarry dump might be one of their own. According to Collins, his wife was the first victim and the most recent was killed on 11th of July.
