Former American president Donald Trump was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service following sentencing over attempting to sabotage 2020 elections in his favour. Post the arrest, Trump was fingerprinted. There was no mug shot taken of him as part of arraignment however.
The presiding Magistrate Judge Moxila A. Upadhyaya told Trump that he faces a maximum of 55 years in jail if convicted on all other charges. On this part, Trump maintained a “no” to all counts and submitted a not-guilty plea to the Magistrate. Trump was released on bond. The next hearing is scheduled for Aug 28 at 10 am before Judge Tany Chutkan.
Trump is a leading candidate for 2024 Republica presidential nomination. Trump was last sentenced in June on federal charges over retention of classified records after he left office in 2021.
