A U.S. drone strike on Monday left ten members of a family, including seven children dead. America had carried out, what it called was defensive airstrike in Kabul, targeting a suspected IS-K bomber who posed ‘imminent threat’ at the airport.
Pentagon said the strike caused secondary explosions and that those blasts might have caused the deaths. The youngest casualty were two 2-year-old girls, according to reports.
“They were an ordinary family. We are not ISIS or Daesh. Thiswas a family home, where my brothers lived with their families,” said brother of one of the victims.
Pentagon reacted to the deaths with spokesman JohnF Kirby saying US works hard to avoid civilian casualties and that there will be investigations into the incident.
