Two more Keralites die in the UAE, six expats in Saudi

Manama: Two more Keralites died in the UAE after contracting COVID-19. The deceased have been identified as Ahmed Kabir (47), a native of Nellikururissi, Mulankur, Palakkad and Koshy Zakaria (51), a native of Thumpaman, Pathanamthitta.

Both were under treatment for the virus, local media said.

With this, the death toll rose to 43.

The ministry of Health and Prevention has already confirmed the death of two Asians on Monday. The country reported 484 fresh cases on the same day, pushing the infected cases to 7,265.  

The ministry reported 74 new recoveries, taking total recoveries in the country to 1,188.

Meanwhile, six expats died of coronavirus in Saudi Arabia on Monday, bringing the country death toll to 103.

Saudi Arabia recorded 1,122 new cases on Monday. The confirmed cases in the country now rose 10,484, the Ministry of Health announced.

Of the new cases 73% are expats, and ages ranged from one month old baby to 96 years old.

Ministry announced 92 recoveries on Monday, and the total number of recovery reached 1,490. There are 96 cases in intensive care.

Elsewhere in Gulf, Kuwait recorded two deaths while Qatar one.
