Baghdad : Iran fired dozens of rockets at two Iraqi military bases hosting US troops - the Ain al-Asad base in Anhar province and a base in Erbil.
The offensives come amid rising tensions between Washington and Tehran following the US killing of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in Iraq last week. Iran had pledged revenge.
There were 22 missiles launched on the bases, two of which did not go off. Iran puts death toll in the aftermath as 80 “American terrorists” while Iraqi authorities and Pentagon claim there were no causalities.
India meanwhile has issued a travel warning asking citizens to avoid “non-essential” travel to Iraq. Indian national residing in Iraq are advised to be alert and may avoid travel within Iraq, the statement from Ministry of Foreign Affairs added.
