Kochi : 12th edition of HotelTech Kerala, the state’s premier expo for the hospitality sector will be held in Kochi at Gokulam Convention Centre, Kaloor, from June 7 to 9, 2023. Announcing this here in a media conference at Ernakulam Press Club, organizers of the event said from this year, the event has been rescheduled to June to facilitate for its B2B customers to plan their purchases well ahead of the tourist season in the state. As usual, the show will focus on the products and services required by hotels, resorts, restaurant and catering sectors, collectively known as HORECA, and will feature suppliers of food ingredients, hotel equipment, linen & furnishings, hotelware, commercial kitchen and cleaning equipment.
Joseph Kuriakose, Director, Cruz Expos, organizers of the expo said more than 60 exhibitors will showcase their products and services at this year’s HotelTech Kerala edition. This year's event is endorsed and supported by Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP), Kerala Start-Up Mission, KSIDC, Association of Approved Hotel Associations of Kerala, Kerala Professional Housekeepers Association, SICA-Kerala Chapter and Chief Engineers Forum.
K-BIP is sponsoring an Industry Pavilion showcasing SMEs from this sector and Kerala StartUp Mission is also putting up an exclusive pavilion for the benefit of start-ups from the State in the expo. The key highlight of this edition will be the Concurrent events including Kerala Culinary Challenge and House Keepers Challenge taking place on the first two days of the expo.
The Kerala Culinary Challenge(KCC) is one of the highly anticipated events at HotelTech Kerala. Chefs and service personnel from across the hotels and resorts from Kerala will vie for top honors at this prestigious event. KCC is being presented this year with the support of SICA-Kerala Chapter. The jury will be chaired by the celebrity international chef Alan Palmer. "We invite all the CChefs from Kerala's hotels/resorts to take part in this prestigious event. This prestigious event will be an ideal opportunity for professional chefs to display their talent," Joseph Kuriakose said.
KCC 2023 is being organized for the 10th Edition in the state and professional chefs from all over Kerala are being invited to take part in fifteen categories including Dress Cake, The Bread & Breakfast Pastry Display, Tier Wedding Cake, Petit Fours or Pralines, Artistic Pastry Showpiece, Creative Dessert, Hot Cooking Chicken, Hot Cooking Fish, Hot Cooking Meat, Kerala Cuisine, Rice Dish, Creative Salads, Mocktail Competition, Creative Cooking with Millets and Creative Table Set-Up. KCC-Judges Panel includes Chef Alan Palmer, Chef Rasheed, Chef Zacharia, Chef George and Chef Rumana.
The 5th edition of Housekeepers Challenge Kerala (HKC) will be endorsed and supported by Kerala Professional Housekeeper’s Association (KPHA) in which housekeeping staff from hotels/resorts will compete in Mop Race, Vacuum Cleaner Race, Bed Making Skills Competition and Towel Art Competition.
Mr. Joseph Kuriakose said the HORECA sector plays a major role in the economic development of the State and various studies reveal that its contribution to the total output, value additions and employment generation have been regularly increasing during the recent years.
Hospitality sector in Kerala, especially in south Kerala and Kumarakom region are experiencing a good inflow of domestic tourists and majority of the hotels and resorts have already got good bookings for the forthcoming holiday season falling from August to January 2024. The HotelTech Kerala will be a good sourcing platform for these resorts and hotels for refurbishing their properties.

HotelTech Kerala 2023 is organised by Kochi based Cruz Expos.
