Irinjalakuda : In connection with National Engineers' Day, a student chapter of the Indian Green Building Council was opened at Universal Engineering College, Vallivattom attached to its civil engineering department. The chapter was inaugurated by Suresh V, Chairman, National Building Code of India. He also spoke on the occasion on sustainable green building technologies that withstand climate change. In his presidential address, Dr. Jose K Jacob, Principal, said the college initiated this chapter as environment-friendly and energy-efficient buildings and imparting their engineering know-how to the engineering students are the needs of the hour. Dr. Hari Narayanan, HoD, Civil Engineering and Bindumol V G also spoke on the occasion.
